We were both born in Texas and met at a summer camp in 1999. After going our separate ways we reconnected again in the fall of 2007. In the spring, we bought 10 acres just outside of Elgin, TX and started working on our homestead. We moved out here in the fall of 2009 and were married spring 2011. This blog chronicles our life together: construction, gardening, farming, animal husbandry, pickling, preserving, foraging, and more! We love all things green and self-sufficient, and our goal is to grow everything we can to support ourselves.
